Advisory Committee

The SETI Institute is pleased announce the formation of an Advisory Committee for our Artist in Residence Program. Committee members will influence the program’s direction, including the choice and approval of future Artists in Residence.

Denise Markonish – Advisory Committee Chair has been the curator at MASS MoCA since 2007. more

 

 

 


Jill Tarter holds the Bernard M. Oliver Chair for SETI Research at the SETI Institute. more

 

 

 


Since 1993, Regine Basha has been curating innovative contemporary art exhibitions for public institutions, civic spaces, parks, private galleries, heritage buildings, and the like, nationally and internationally, with an adventurous approach to designing and curating in these specific contexts. more

 


Joel Slayton is Executive Director of ZERO1: The Art and Technology Network in Silicon Valley. more

 

 

 


Donna Conwell has served as Associate Curator of the Lucas Artists Program at Montalvo Arts Center since 2011. more

 

 

 


Margot Knight has been Executive Director of Djerassi Resident Artists Program since 2011. more

 

 

 


Roger Malina is an astronomer, editor and art science researcher. more

 

 

 


Catherine Chalmers holds a B.S. in Engineering from Stanford University and an M.F.A. in Painting from the Royal College of Art in London.  She has exhibited her artwork around the world, including MoMA P.S.1, Corcoran Gallery of Art, and MASSMoCA. Her video “Safari” received a Jury Award at SXSW Film Festival in 2008.  In 2010, Chalmers received at Guggenheim Fellowship. more

 


Tom Leeser is a media artist, educator, curator and writer. more

 

 

 


Mark Showalter is a Senior Research Scientist at the SETI Institute, specializing in the dynamics of the rings and small moons of the outer planets. more
